Family Camping Poem

In the month of August, hop in the car
Head north to Algonquin, it is not very far
Greeted by smiles, hugs and high fives
The fresh air so sweet, feelin' so alive
Let's pack together, this is so real
Tasty spring water, enjoy a team meal
Canoes loaded and stable, ready to float
We are the motor, let's paddle the boat
Adventure is calling, you answered the call
To explore wild nature, Old trees, so very tall
Arrive at our site, it's our place for fun
Laughter and learning, big clouds and warm sun
Collect wood for our fire, and set up our tents.
Look, listen, feel and smell the fresh scents
Magical moments, that's what we'll make
Let's go and get dirty, now let's jump in the lake.
Cozy campfires, sun's going down
The forest is sleeping, I can't hear a sound
Ahh the call of the loon, they don't mean to fright
They are just passing by, to wish you goodnight
So calm and happy, a day to remember
Look around at all of our faces, lit up by the warm embers.
One day, a full story, it is time for some rest
Burrow up in my sleeping bag, family camping's the best.

Rise early one morning, before even the sun
Paddle so very quiet, it’s really quite fun
What’s that in the lilies, a horse on the loose?
My goodness, good golly, it’s a big funny MOOSE.
