THE WILD WOMAN CANOE TRIP

A 4-day journey to reconnect with

your untamed self

ADVENTURE. SISTERHOOD. REWILDING. REMEBERING.

September 18th-21st

Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada

A return to the wild within.

Beneath the noise of daily life, there’s a deeper voice - quiet, fierce, and wise. It’s the voice of your wild self. The one who knows how to move with the rhythms of nature, who trusts her intuition, who craves something more. A voice within each woman.

Sometimes this voice becomes lost in the busyness of day to day. In the responsibilities of being a mother, partner, caretaker, daughter, sister, provider, leader, nurturer and more. This trip is a remembrance of that voice. A connection to the self.

This journey is your invitation to change that.

Inspiration

“To find her (the Wild Woman), it is necessary for woman to return to their instinctive lives, their deepest knowing. So, let us push on now, and remember ourselves back to the wild soul. Let us sing her flesh back onto our bones. Shed any false coats we have been given. Don the true coat of powerful instinct and knowing. Infiltrate the psychic lands that once belonged to us. Unfurl the bandages. Ready the medecine. Let us return now, wild women howling, laughing, singing up The One who loves us so.

For us the issue is simple. Without us, Wild Woman dies. Without Wild Woman, we die. Para Vida, for true life, both must live.”

- Clarissa Pinkola Estes from her book Woman Who Run With the Wolves

The Wild Woman Canoe Trip is a guided adventure through Algonquin Park, designed to help women reconnect, reset, and adventure - together.

This is a trip for women who want more than a vacation.

You’ll paddle, portage, cook, camp, and share stories together in the wild. You’ll learn from the land, from the group and from each other - strengthening your relationship with self, family and nature.

At Driftwood Paddle, the canoe trip is just the beginning. What we really offer is space - space to unplug, slow down, and feel alive again.

This is more than a change of scenery. It’s a shift in reality.

A chance to step out of your comfort zone, reconnect, and carry home what matters most—letting the rest go.

Itinerary Overview

From beginners to seasoned paddlers - there is no previous canoeing or camping experience required for this trip.

  • Arrive at the edge of Algonquin’s vast wilderness. After a warm welcome, orientation, and packing out, we’ll share our first meal together and load into canoes - beginning our adventure together. Paddle, Lake, River, Snack, Portage. We will find a campsite and settle in, explore & take a sunset dip. Share a tasty meal and gather in circle around the fire to open the journey.

  • These days will be filled with a shared morning practice, nutritious meals, day adventures - exploring some of our favourite spots in the park, paddling shorelines in search of wildlife, cleansing swims, silliness, deep nature connection, sharing circles, singing and dance.

Just as the river flows so will we. Days will unfold organically, providing flexibility to move with nature. Rainy swims or midday hammock naps simply cannot be planned for. By dropping into our feminine essence we become receptive to nature. In collaboration we intuitively create, weaving together the perfect moments - both tranquil and triumphant.

  • We gather one final time to reflect, honour the journey, and give thanks. As you paddle out of the park, you leave with more than memories—you leave with a renewed sense of self, a newfound sisterhood and connection to your inner wild woman.

  • It was so serene, peaceful, therapeutic and transformational. It felt like it had healing powers as no one wanted to leave and we returned recharged, re-energized and fulfilled.

  • An amazing experience reconnecting with nature and oneself. Although we didn't know everyone in our group right away, we developed meaningful connections that made 24 hours feel like a week./The nature was immaculate. The food was delicious. The company was phenomenal. The only thing I would change about the trip would be to make it WAY longer

    Emily Mercy & Caleigh Campbell

  • The experience was magical and Driftwood Paddle really goes the extra mile to ensure everyone, no matter their camping experience is able to part take and have a great experience.

Meet Your Lead Guide - Ella

Ella lives for adventure and deep connections. Guided by curiosity, her life has been a vibrant array of wild meanderings providing her with a breadth of experience and perspective. From Ivey Business School to Solo Travelling South America, Ella continues to believe in herself, stepping outside her comfort zone to live the life she desires.

Women empowerment continues to be a growing passion, and is woven into how she speaks and the actions she takes day to day. Her most recent area of growth was initiating a Women’s group in Nelson BC; a beautiful 8 week container that allowed women to open up, speak from their heart, feel seen, heard as they reclaimed their power.

Ella has paddled the waters of Algonquin Park since she was little and is at home in nature - it is where she likes to play and feel her strength. As her relationship with the wild deepens, so does her understanding of herself. This trip she invites women to answer their own call of the wild.  As your guide she is excited to share in the wonders of nature together and blossom next to you.
